Ten-year-old Luca has always found freedom in the world of theater his mother, Sonia, created for him. When her emotional balance begins to unravel and his grandparents suggest separating them, Luca becomes determined to convince everyone that she can still care for him. As he quietly takes on the role of protector, the weight of holding their world together becomes too much to bear, forcing him to accept that loving his mother also means letting others help her.
