We are glad to announce that our recent acquisition THE RIVER BANK (A Margem do Rio), by Matheus Farias and Enock Carvalho, an LGBTQ+ erotic thriller, will premiere as part of Locarno's competition.
Set in Recife, a Brazilian city interwoven with rivers and mangroves, the film follows Izaquiel (Caique Copque), a young cleaner whose nightly search for intimacy leads him to Jeremias (Ítalo Martins, “The Secret Agent"), a magnetic fisherman. As violence closes in, both embark on a journey into the depths of the mangroves, where reality and myth intertwine, exposing the invisible structures of power that govern their world.
